Ilmenite, Granular

Description

Ilmenite is a black iron-titanium oxide with a chemical composition of FeTiO₃.   It is used in small amounts to produce specks in clay bodies and  glazes. It may be used along with rutile to develop variegated glazes, and may be used to promote crystals in titanium glazes.

Always wear an approved dust mask when handling raw materials. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while working with chemicals. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water. Provide adequate ventilation. Familiarize yourself with the risks in ceramic chemicals in order to practice good hygiene and protect your health.
